The purpose of this petition is to raise awareness about the importance of federal public services and to demonstrate to Members of Parliament and Treasury Board President Tony Clement that there is public support to stop the Conservative government's plans to cut these services.

The plan is to circulate the petitions as widely as possible to gain as many signatures as possible. Our goal is to collect over 150,000 signatures. All petitions should be retured by October 31 to the PSAC Regional Office at:

EDMONTON'S INJURED WORKERS OBELISK PROJECT

IN PROGRESS

To mark the centennial of this struggle - and continue to fight for workplace safety  - the Edmonton and District Labour Council has commissioned the building of a memorial obelisk, which will be placed in Edmonton's Grant Notely Park and unveiled hopefully April 28, 2012, the National Day of Mourning, also the 100th anniversary of the Alberta Federation of Labour.

Broken Families Contest Finales

The winner of this contest is: Michael Brown

"A broken family is still a family, only with broken dreams, and broken hearts.

Here stands a memorial for those who died at work and those who are left behind."

"Look to the future, remember the past, and let not their deaths be in vain."
